Peanut Butter Machines
Built for Ghana

Groundnut paste is not a novelty product in Ghana — nkate is a staple ingredient, and groundnut soup is cooked in millions of homes every week. That gives a Ghanaian processor something most markets do not offer: guaranteed baseline demand. The commercial opportunity lies in moving that demand from open-market paste, ground to order, into consistent packaged product with a shelf life and a brand behind it.

Shrijee Nut Company manufactures the machinery that transition requires. We have built peanut and nut processing equipment in Rajkot, Gujarat since 2004, with more than 500 machine installations and over 100 turnkey plant projects delivered. We export to Ghana on FOB and CIF terms with the full documentation set your clearing agent needs.

Getting the Size Right

Choose Capacity for Your Market

Over-specifying is the most common and most expensive mistake we see. Buy for the demand you can prove, not the demand you hope for.

Starter Line

100–150 kg/day

New brand serving Accra and Kumasi market trade and neighbourhood retail.

  • Manual or compact roasting
  • Single-stage grinding
  • Manual filling
  • Minimal floor space

Industrial Line

1,000+ kg/day

Contract manufacturer, private-label supplier or ECOWAS regional exporter.

  • Continuous roasting
  • Automated blanching
  • In-line filling and labelling
  • Bulk storage tanks

Ghana’s baseline demand is real, but packaged conversion takes time. Households already buy groundnut paste; persuading them to buy it in a jar with your name on it is the actual work. Start at a capacity you can sell through in a quarter, and keep layout headroom for the second grinder. Freight, duties, clearing, inland haulage and installation all sit on top of the machinery — plan for them explicitly. See our plant investment guide and automation comparison.

Why Source from India

Four Engineering Reasons,
Not Marketing Claims

Electrical Compatibility

Ghana runs 50Hz supply with 400V three-phase distribution, the same frequency as India and within the tolerance band of our standard motors and control gear. No frequency conversion, no rewind — machinery built for 60Hz markets cannot say the same.

Paste and Butter on One Line

Ghana’s market wants both traditional unsweetened paste and sweetened, stabilised retail butter. A two-stage grinder plus a ribbon blender lets one line make both, which is usually a better first investment than a larger single-product mill.

Repairable On Site

Standard-section stainless fabrication, common bearing sizes and widely available motor frames mean a competent Tema or Accra fabricator can maintain the line, rather than waiting on a technician from overseas.

Crop Similarity

Northern Ghanaian groundnut behaves comparably to Indian varieties through roasting and blanching in oil content and skin adhesion, so our roast profiles and blancher settings transfer across without redesign.

From Our Works to Your Floor

Importing Machinery into Ghana

We handle manufacture, pre-dispatch testing, export packing and documentation. Clearing on the Ghanaian side is handled by your licensed agent.

01

Proforma Invoice

We issue a proforma invoice against which your bank and clearing agent begin the import file.

02

Conformity Assessment

Arranged before dispatch under the Ghana Standards Authority import conformity regime.

03

Manufacture & Testing

Two to four weeks depending on configuration, with pre-dispatch testing.

04

Sea Freight

Mundra or Nhava Sheva to Tema or Takoradi, roughly 26–36 days port to port.

05

Clearance & Haulage

Customs clearance through your agent, then road transport to site.

Two honest cautions. Ghana’s import and conformity procedures are revised periodically — confirm the current position with your clearing agent before committing to a shipment schedule, and do not rely on this page as a compliance reference.

Food and Drugs Authority registration applies to the peanut butter you sell, not to the machine. Registering your finished product runs on its own timeline, independent of equipment delivery. Start it early.

Engineering for Your Site

Specified for Ghanaian
Operating Conditions

Machinery specified for a stable industrial supply will disappoint in a plant running on intermittent grid power and generator backup. We account for that when quoting.

Generator-Aware Electrics

Star-delta or soft starters on higher-rated grinding motors cut the inrush current that trips generator sets on start-up. A connected-load schedule ships with every quotation so your electrical contractor can size the genset, changeover and stabiliser accurately instead of estimating.

Coastal Humidity

Tema and Accra humidity affects roasted kernel handling and finished-product shelf life, while northern sites near Tamale are considerably drier. Tell us where the plant will sit and we will advise on cooling-belt residence time and sealed storage accordingly.

Spares Held On Site

A recommended spares list ships with the order — grinding stones, bearings, seals and belts. At this distance, holding wear parts on site is the difference between a half-day stoppage and a six-week one.

Raw Material

Groundnut Sourcing Within Ghana

Ghana’s groundnut is grown almost entirely in the north — the Northern Region around Tamale, and the Upper East and Upper West around Bolgatanga and Wa. For a processor based in Tema or Accra that means long inbound road freight, and moisture control during transit belongs in your model from the start.

  • Aflatoxin management starts at intake, not at grinding. Never skip the sorting table and vibratory sieve stage, however tempting the saving looks on the machine list.
  • Moisture drives your roast profile. Kernels trucked south through a humid coastal belt will not behave like kernels roasted in Tamale — a stable supplier relationship is worth more than a marginally lower price.
  • Consider siting north. Some processors put the roasting and blanching stages near the growing region and move blanched kernels south, which cuts spoilage risk on the inbound leg.
  • Rejecting bad kernels at intake is far cheaper than recalling finished product from the trade.

Installation, Commissioning
& Operator Training

Drawings Before Dispatch

Layout, foundation and utility drawings reach you while the machines are still on our floor. Tema is a long routing from India, so use that transit time: finish the slab, drainage and three-phase run before the container clears, and you commission in days rather than weeks.

Training Your Operators

Commissioning covers roast profiling, grinder gap setting and the cleaning cycle — and, where you are running both traditional paste and sweetened retail butter, the changeover routine between them. Engineer deputation is quoted separately; remote commissioning over video is available where a visit is not practical.

Common Questions

Peanut Butter Machines in Ghana

Yes. We manufacture in Rajkot, Gujarat and export to Ghana on FOB or CIF terms through Mundra and Nhava Sheva ports, with delivery to Tema or Takoradi. We supply the export documentation set your clearing agent needs, including the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin.

Yes, and most Ghanaian processors want both. Unsweetened nkate paste comes off the primary colloid mill directly. Sweetened, stabilised retail butter needs a second fine-grinding pass and a ribbon blender to fold in salt, sugar and stabiliser. Specifying both from the start is usually a better investment than a larger single-product mill.

Yes. Ghana runs 50Hz supply with 400V three-phase distribution and 230V single phase. India uses 415V three-phase at the same frequency, which sits inside the tolerance band of our standard motors and control gear — no frequency conversion or rewind. We supply the connected-load schedule with every quotation so you can size your generator and stabiliser correctly.

Food and Drugs Authority registration applies to the finished food product you sell, not to the machinery. You register your peanut butter or groundnut paste as a packaged food before commercial distribution. Imported machinery falls under Ghana Standards Authority conformity assessment instead. Confirm current requirements with your licensed clearing agent.

Sea freight from Mundra or Nhava Sheva to Tema typically runs 26 to 36 days port to port, before customs clearance — West Africa is a longer routing than the East African ports. Add two to four weeks for manufacturing and pre-dispatch testing. Treat these as indicative.

Layout, foundation and utility drawings are supplied before dispatch — Tema is a long routing, so use the transit time for civil and electrical work. On site we commission the line and train your operators, including changeover between traditional paste and sweetened retail butter if you run both. Engineer deputation is quoted separately, covering travel, visa and per-diem.

Yes. A complete line covering roasting, cooling, blanching, grading, two-stage grinding, mixing, filling and labelling is supplied as one package with a single layout and one point of accountability. Where you intend to produce both traditional paste and sweetened retail butter, specifying the whole line together is the only reliable way to get the changeover right. We have delivered over 100 turnkey projects since 2004.
